In China, “百安居”,“B&Q” and “B&Q百安居” have all been classified as well-known trademarks by the People’s Courts.
B&Q attaches great importance to brand building, and it has been developing its brands through continuous innovation and by offering superior products and service. For this reason, B&Q is also committed to confronting those who abuse B&Q’s trademarks or exploit B&Q’s reputation for their own purpose. In order to achieve these goals, B&Q has built up a comprehensive system and appointed dedicated professionals to protect and develop its valuable brands.
To date, B&Q has achieved great success in enforcing its intellectual property rights. B&Q has tackled a number of infringement cases involving its trade names and/or trademarks via administrative enforcement actions and with the support of administrative and judicial authorities. Among these actions, there have been approximately 20 cases where the infringers voluntarily refrained from further infringement by changing (or cancelling) their company names, 9 cases where the local Administration of Industry and Commerce (AIC) ordered the infringers to change their names, and 1 case where the local AIC revoked the business license of the infringer.
